HesabPay

Send money, pay bills and top up mobile credit from Afghanistan's leading digital wallet, without ever visiting a bank branch. About HesabPay: HesabPay is Afghanistan's first interoperable digital payments platform, launched in Kabul in 2016 to give people a way to move money electronically in a country where, at the time, only around 6% of the population had a bank account. Backed by Da Afghanistan Bank, it has since grown to roughly a million active users and expanded from a humanitarian-aid disbursement tool into a full consumer wallet, adding an international Visa card in 2026 for cross-border payments. Key Features: Send & Receive Money: Transfer funds instantly to any other HesabPay user across Afghanistan's 34 provinces. Bill & Utility Payments: Pay electricity, internet and other recurring bills directly from the wallet. Mobile Top-Ups: Recharge airtime for any Afghan mobile network without visiting a kiosk. Flight Booking & Visa Card: Book domestic flights in-app, and use the HesabPay Visa card for international online purchases and transfers. How to Get Started: Download the HesabPay app (Android or iOS) or dial the USSD code *580# on a feature phone. Register with your mobile number, a photo ID and a selfie for verification. Fund the wallet through a bank, card, or one of HesabPay's other supported channels. Send money, pay bills or top up credit directly from the app. Important Notice: HesabPay is a private financial platform, not a government service, and it operates independently of Afghanistan's formal banking system. Coverage and supported payment channels are still expanding, particularly for Afghans living abroad.
