About Snoonu

Snoonu began as a 2016 capstone project by Hamad Al Hajri and Saud Al Attiyah at HEC Paris in Qatar, launching commercially in 2019-2020 from what Al Hajri has described as a small team working out of a garage office. It grew rapidly into Qatar's leading on-demand delivery platform, expanding into Oman with its 2022 acquisition of delivery app Akeed and becoming the first Qatari startup to cross a QAR 1 billion valuation. In April 2026, Saudi Arabia's Jahez - itself a major regional food-delivery company - acquired Snoonu for approximately $245 million, while Snoonu continues to operate under its own brand in Qatar.
