Karwa Journey Planner
The official Karwa bus app from Mowasalat, Qatar's public transport operator, used to plan bus trips, see the bus network and nearby stops, track buses in real time and manage a Karwa Smart Card.
About Karwa Journey Planner
Karwa Journey Planner is the bus app of Mowasalat, the company that runs Qatar's public buses, including the Metrolink feeder routes, under the Karwa brand. The app lets you plan a trip by destination, stop or route, view the bus network and check expected arrival times. Regular Karwa buses do not take cash, so the app is also used to manage the Karwa Smart Card used for fares. It is available for iPhone and Android, and a web planner offers similar route planning.
Key Features
- Trip Planning: Search a journey by destination, stop or route and see the fare before you travel.
- Network Map: View bus routes and find stops near your location.
- Live Tracking: Follow buses in real time and see expected arrival times and service announcements.
- Smart Card: Register and manage your Karwa Smart Card in the app.
How to Get Started
- Download Karwa Journey Planner from the App Store or Google Play.
- Allow location access or type your start point and destination.
- Pick a suggested route and note the bus number, stop and fare.
- Get a Karwa Smart Card at a sales point such as Hamad International Airport or a major bus station, and tap it when you board.
Regular Karwa buses are cashless, so you need a Smart Card or an accepted digital ticket before boarding. Card prices and fares listed by third parties may be out of date, so check the fare in the app. Metrolink feeder buses are free but still require you to tap in and out or scan a ticket. Routes change from time to time, so check announcements in the app.
