Plan a trip, check live updates and top up your travel card for Qatar's fully automated driverless metro, from the official Qatar Rail app. About Doha Metro (Qatar Rail app): The Doha Metro, operated by state-owned Qatar Rail, began preview service in May 2019 and became fully operational across all three lines by September 2020. It's a mostly underground, fully driverless network of roughly 76 kilometers and 37 stations, connecting to the separate Lusail Tram at Lusail and Legtafiya stations, and served as key transport infrastructure during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The official Qatar Rail app gives riders network maps, live service updates and account management for both the Metro and the Tram from one place. Key Features: Three-Line Network: Travel across the Red, Green and Gold lines, with trains arriving roughly every six minutes and average station-to-station journeys of about three minutes. Live Updates & Station Info: Check real-time service updates, find your nearest station, and view station facilities directly in the app. Travel Card Management: Top up your Doha Metro & Lusail Travel Card online through the app or website instead of only at station vending machines. Metrolink & MetroExpress: Access free feeder buses (Metrolink) and on-demand shared vans (MetroExpress) that extend the network to areas 2-5 km from stations. How to Get Started: Download the Qatar Rail app from the App Store or Google Play. Buy a travel card at a station vending machine or a participating retailer, or check Gold Club options for a premium card. Use the app to check station information, live updates and journey history, and top up your card when needed. Tap in and out with your card at Travel Pass validators at the start and end of each journey. Important Notice: Gold class carriages require a separate Gold Club card purchased at station offices; family carriages are reserved for families and lone women and cannot be used by lone men, and the network runs on a modified schedule on Friday mornings for prayer times.
