Kahramaa

Qatar's official electricity and water corporation, where residents open a utility account when they move in, pay monthly electricity and water bills online or in the app, and close the account and get a clearance certificate when they leave.

About Kahramaa

KAHRAMAA, the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation, was established in July 2000 under Law No. 10 and is the sole owner and operator of Qatar's electricity and water transmission and distribution networks. Households deal with it to register a property, pay bills and request services. Bills can be paid on km.qa, in the Kahramaa app, by phone on 991, through Hukoomi, at local banks and at Ooredoo and QNB self-service machines. The app, published by the corporation in English and Arabic, also handles service requests, meter readings and certificates.

Key Features

  • Bill Payment: View and pay electricity and water bills with your QID and Kahramaa number.
  • My Properties: Manage the properties linked to your account in the app.
  • Service Requests: Submit and track electronic requests, send meter readings and request certificates.
  • Green Bill: Receive your monthly bill by email instead of on paper.

How to Get Started

  1. Find your Kahramaa number on a previous bill or in your rental agreement.
  2. As a tenant, register with your QID, the owner's QID and your rental contract.
  3. Download the Kahramaa app or open km.qa and log in with your QID.
  4. Pay your bill each month and keep the deposit receipt for when you move out.
⚠️ Important Notice

A new account needs a Qatar ID, so short-term visitors usually cannot open one, and in many rentals the account stays in the landlord's or employer's name. Partial payment is not supported online. When you leave, take the original deposit receipt to the main customer service office, pay the final dues after the last meter reading and collect the clearance certificate, which landlords often ask for.
