About Oman Meteorology
Oman Meteorology is the national weather service and part of the Civil Aviation Authority. In 2025 it launched an upgraded website and mobile app with daily and hourly forecasts, interactive maps, charts and climate reports. It issues early warnings for heavy rain, strong winds, fog, high waves, floods, cyclones and tropical systems, using a colour-coded scale for intensity. The app is published as Oman Meteo on the App Store and Google Play.

Important NoticeFlash floods in wadis are a real danger in Oman during heavy rain, so follow official warnings and never drive through flowing water. During tropical cyclones the authorities may close roads and beaches, so follow instructions from the Royal Oman Police and civil defence. Forecasts can change quickly, so check again before you travel.
