About Bakong

Bakong is the payment system run by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC). Its KHQR code is the national QR standard that shops, restaurants and market stalls across Cambodia accept. Visitors can use the Bakong Tourists app, launched in 2024, to register, top up a wallet at the airport or a hotel or by linking a Visa or Mastercard card, and pay by scanning KHQR codes.

How to Get Started

Download the Bakong Tourists app (for visitors) or the Bakong app (for residents with a Cambodian bank account) from the App Store or Google Play.
Register with your e-mail address and complete the identity check with your passport.
Top up your wallet at a designated point or link your card.
Scan the shop's KHQR code, enter the amount and confirm.
