Gov.kr (정부24)

Gov.kr (Government24) is South Korea's unified portal for civil administrative services, letting residents access government procedures online instead of visiting an office. About Gov.kr: Run by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Government24 consolidates thousands of administrative procedures across ministries and local governments, from certificates to permit applications, into one central portal. Key Features: Service Directory: Search administrative procedures by ministry, region, or life event category. Online Certificate Issuance: Request and print many official certificates directly from home. Application Status Tracking: Check the progress of a submitted application using a reference number. Digital Identity Login: Sign in securely using a Korean digital identity method for verified services. How to Get Started: Visit the Government24 website or download the app. Log in using a Korean resident registration number and a supported digital identity method. Search for the specific administrative service or certificate you need. Complete the request online, or follow next steps for services requiring further action. Important Notice: Nearly all services on this portal require a Korean resident registration number — it is built for citizens and registered residents, not for short-term visitors. The interface is in Korean only.

HomeTax

File and pay Korean taxes, and request official tax certificates, entirely online through the National Tax Service's own portal — no visit to a tax office required. About HomeTax: HomeTax (hometax.go.kr) is the official online tax-administration service of Korea's National Tax Service (국세청), letting individuals and businesses file and pay taxes, issue and manage tax invoices and cash receipts, and request tax certificates without visiting a tax office in person. A companion mobile app, Sontax (손택스), covers many of the same functions from a phone. Key Features: Full Online Tax Filing: File comprehensive income tax, VAT, corporate tax and more, and pay directly through the site. Certificate Issuance: Request and print official tax certificates and proof-of-payment documents online. Pre-Filled Data: For many filings, HomeTax pre-fills known income, health-insurance and deduction data to speed up the process. Limited English Support: A separate English interface (nts.go.kr/eng) and a dedicated foreign-taxpayer phone line cover key services for non-Korean speakers. How to Get Started: Visit hometax.go.kr and register using your Resident Registration Number or, as a foreigner, your Alien Registration Number. Verify your identity using a digital certificate or a supported simple-authentication method (such as Kakao, Naver, KB or Toss). Navigate to the relevant filing or certificate-request menu under "All Menus". Complete and submit the filing, or download the requested certificate. Important Notice: Most of HomeTax's interface and functionality is in Korean, with only limited English, Chinese and Vietnamese coverage for foreigners; for anything beyond the basics, the National Tax Service's Foreign Taxpayer Service Center (☎ 1588-0560) can help by phone.
