iAM Smart

Hong Kong's official digital identity platform, letting residents log into government e-services and sign documents digitally. About iAM Smart: iAM Smart is the government's unified digital identity, replacing the need to create separate accounts and remember separate passwords for each department by giving residents a single verified digital identity for logging into and authorising government e-services. Key Features: Single Sign-On: One login credential works across a growing list of participating government e-services. Digital Signing: Sign government forms and some private-sector documents digitally, without printing and physically signing. Auto Form-Filling: Personal details can be auto-filled into supported government forms, reducing repeat data entry. Personal Data Vault: Securely stores identity documents digitally for use during verification. How to Get Started: Download the iAM Smart app to your smartphone. Register using your Hong Kong Identity Card and a face verification step. Choose between the basic ("iAM Smart") and premium digital-signing ("iAM Smart+") tiers. Use your registered login wherever GovHK or a participating e-service asks for iAM Smart authentication. Important Notice: iAM Smart requires a valid Hong Kong Identity Card to register, so it is built for residents rather than short-term visitors.

GovHK

Hong Kong's official one-stop government portal for public information, forms and online services across departments. About GovHK: GovHK is the government's central web gateway, organising services from dozens of departments — from tax filing to licence renewals — under a single navigable structure rather than requiring citizens to know which department to approach first. Key Features: Cross-Department Directory: One entry point covering services from the Inland Revenue Department, Immigration, Transport and many other bureaus. Online Forms and E-Payments: Many services allow forms to be submitted and government fees paid directly online. Multilingual Interface: Available in Traditional Chinese and English throughout. Alerts and Announcements: Government notices, weather warnings and public service updates are surfaced centrally. How to Get Started: Visit the GovHK website or download the mobile app. Browse by topic (e.g. "Business", "Residents", "Non-residents") or search for a specific service. Follow the link to the relevant department's online form or e-service. Some services require login via iAM Smart or a department-specific account. Important Notice: GovHK itself is mainly a directory — actual transactions often redirect to a specific department's own system, which may have its own login requirements.
