About Maqsad

Maqsad (meaning "purpose" in Urdu) is a Karachi-founded mobile learning platform launched in 2021 by childhood friends Taha Ahmed and Rooshan Aziz, both London School of Economics graduates who left careers in consulting and investment banking in London to build it. The app was built around a specific gap: with roughly one teacher for every 44 students in Pakistan, many students lack access to quality after-school academic support, especially for the high-stakes grades 9-12 board exams. Maqsad delivers localized content in a mix of English and Urdu and has consistently ranked as the top education app in Pakistan on the Google Play Store since launch.

Key Features

Photo-Based Doubt Solving (DoubtSolve): Photograph a question you're stuck on and get an explanation, rather than searching for an answer elsewhere.
Video Lessons and Quizzes: Structured, curriculum-aligned video content paired with interactive testing to check understanding.
Bilingual Content: Lessons delivered in a mix of English and Urdu, matching how Pakistani students actually study rather than English-only content.
Grades 9-12 Focus: Content specifically built around Pakistan's local educational boards and the high-stakes matric/intermediate exam years.
