About Xpat

Xpat (xpat.egov.mv) is the official expatriate management system developed and managed by the Maldives' Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology, part of the wider OneGov Portal. It's the required channel for Work Visa applications, letting employers and employees submit requests, track status, verify work permits, and handle related payments entirely online rather than in person.

Key Features

Work Visa Applications: Submit and track Work Visa requests directly through the online system.
Work Permit Verification: Check the validity and status of an issued work permit.
Employment Approval Management: Employers manage Employment Approvals and visa requests for their foreign staff.
Online Payments: Handle visa-related fees and pending payments directly within the platform.

How to Get Started

Visit xpat.egov.mv and log in (employer or employee access, depending on your role).
Locate the relevant work permit or employee profile.
Open the Visa tab and select the type of request you need to submit.
Upload the required documents and complete any associated payment online.

Before you use it

Sign-up: Applications are made by the employer, not the worker.
Good to know: A worker can verify a permit number on the site to confirm a job offer is genuine.
