About AliExpress
AliExpress is Alibaba's international consumer marketplace, letting shoppers order products directly from Chinese manufacturers and sellers with international shipping built into the platform. Orders to the Maldives typically arrive via Malé before onward delivery to other islands, which adds time beyond the platform's usual estimate.
Key Features
- Huge Product Range: Electronics, clothing, home goods, and countless other categories from thousands of sellers.
- Competitive Pricing: Often lower prices than what's available locally, especially outside Malé.
- Buyer Protection: Purchase protection policies covering non-delivery or items not as described.
- International Shipping: Ships to Malé, with onward delivery to other islands depending on the seller and courier.
How to Get Started
- Download the AliExpress app or visit the website and create an account.
- Search for products and check the estimated delivery time to the Maldives before ordering.
- Choose a shipping method, add items to your cart, and complete payment.
- Track your order and plan for extra time if you're on an island outside Malé.
Before you use it
- Limits: Parcels arrive in Malé and go through customs; delivery to other islands is extra.
