Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)

The MDAC is Malaysia's compulsory online arrival form. Almost every foreign visitor submits it before landing, including visa-free travellers; it is not a visa and costs nothing.

What it helps with

  • Getting through immigration on arrivalThe card is checked with your passport at the counter or e-gate; without it you are sent to fill it in first.
  • Knowing when to fill it inThe form only accepts trips starting within 3 days, so you submit it shortly before the flight, not weeks ahead.
  • Travelling with familyEach traveller, children included, needs a separate card linked to their own passport.

About Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC):

It is run by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia) and replaced the paper arrival card on 1 January 2024. You enter passport, flight and accommodation details; the confirmation is checked with your passport at the immigration counter or e-gate.

Key Features:

  • Window: Submit within 3 days before arrival, the day of submission included.
  • Every trip: A new card for each entry, one per traveller, children included.
  • Two channels: The Immigration website and the MyNIISe app.
  • Proof: A confirmation you show with your passport on arrival.

How to Get Started:

  1. Open imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main or the MyNIISe app.
  2. Enter passport details, flight and the address where you will stay.
  3. Submit and save the confirmation as a PDF or screenshot.
  4. Show it with your passport at immigration in Malaysia.

Before you use it

  • Sign-up: The form refuses arrival dates more than 3 days away, counting the day you submit.
  • Limits: A new MDAC is needed for every entry, even if you were in Malaysia last week or use the e-gates.
  • Fees: The government form is free; look-alike sites charge for the same form.
