Snapp

Book a ride with an upfront fare in Tehran and more than a dozen other Iranian cities, from the app that pioneered ride-hailing in Iran and now anchors a 20-service super-app. About Snapp: Snapp launched in Tehran in February 2014 as "Taxi Yaab," founded by Iyad Elkaser and Mahmud Fauz, and became Iran's first ride-hailing service — quoting a fixed fare upfront and removing the traditional back-and-forth of taxi bargaining. Backed by a $22 million Series A investment from South Africa's MTN in 2016, and insulated from foreign competitors like Uber, which cannot legally operate in Iran due to sanctions, Snapp grew into the country's dominant ride-hailing app, now reaching more than 60 million users across 287 Iranian cities as the anchor service of a broader 20-service Snapp super-app that also includes SnappFood, SnappMarket and SnappTrip. Key Features: Upfront Pricing: See the fare before you book, avoiding the negotiation traditionally expected with Tehran street taxis. Snapp Rose: Request a female driver specifically, an option built for women and families who prefer it. Multi-City Coverage: Book rides in Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Qom, Tabriz and other major Iranian cities. Driver Vetting: Drivers undergo background checks and vehicle inspection before being approved to drive on the platform. How to Get Started: Download the Snapp app (available in Persian, English and French) from a supported Iranian app store. Register with your mobile number. Set your pickup location and destination to see the fare before confirming. Track your driver's location on the map and pay in cash or through the app, depending on what's supported in your city. Important Notice: Snapp is no longer available on Google Play or the Apple App Store; downloading it requires an alternative source, and cash remains the primary payment method in many cities outside Tehran.
