DST
One of Brunei's three mobile operators, with prepaid and postpaid plans, a tourist SIM sold at the airport and 5G service since June 2023.
About DST
DST (Datastream Digital) is one of the three main telecom providers in Brunei, together with imagine and Progresif, and has historically been the country's largest mobile operator. It offers prepaid and postpaid mobile plans, fixed and broadband services and digital payment solutions, and it launched 5G on 22 June 2023. Visitors can buy the DST Easi Tourist SIM at Brunei International Airport and in DST stores.
Key Features
- Prepaid and Postpaid Plans: Choose a prepaid SIM with data add-ons, or a postpaid plan for a longer stay.
- Tourist SIM: A short-stay SIM for visitors, sold at the airport and in stores.
- 4G and 5G: 4G coverage across most of the country, with 5G in larger towns.
- Fixed and Broadband: Home internet and fixed-line services, as well as mobile service.
How to Get Started
- Buy a SIM at Brunei International Airport or at a DST store.
- Show your passport or identity card, since prepaid numbers must be registered.
- Activate the SIM and pick a data pack.
- Top up at DST stores or with recharge options when the balance runs low.
Registration of prepaid numbers is mandatory in Brunei. A tourist SIM is valid for a limited time and cannot be topped up after it expires, so a longer stay needs a regular prepaid plan. Plans and prices change, so compare the current offers of DST, Progresif and imagine in the store.
